RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts
• Effectively manage assigned tasks within the scope and mission of the Modification Shop
• Perform welding duties on time while adhering to all safety parameters and quality standards
• Collaborate in the production and maintenance of precise reports for various business processes and procedures; input relevant data into computerized systems to facilitate informed decision-making
• Identify opportunities for process enhancement, assess potential risks, and promptly communicate critical business information to key stakeholders. Contribute to optimizing results and driving superior financial outcomes for TGL.
• Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TGL
• Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for TGL; maintain TGL equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
• Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
• Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE 
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TGL assets at all times

 REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid drivers license and good driving record
• 18 years or older
• Work experience demonstrating proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols to welding operations
• Strong MIG/TIG/Stick welding skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in executing tasks
• Ability to record accurate business data on reports and enter into computerized systems
• Flexibility and ability to problem solve, effectively multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
• Works well in a highly team-focused environment, with good written and verbal communication skills in English
• PC and MS Office proficiency
• Good interpersonal skills; able to maintain a positive work attitude and demeanor
• Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
• Ability to transport self over multi acre work site of varied terrain and climb in/out of equipment
• Ability to work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to pass background check

Preferred

• Any similar industry education/training/certifications
• WABO or AWS equivalent certification
• 3 years similar welding experience
• Experience with mechanical lifts for moving parts and containers
• Knowledge of hydraulics

Puyallup Tribal Enterprises (PTE) is the economic development entity for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, located in Tacoma, WA. PTE formed Tahoma Global Logistics in December 2022 to leverage Tribal properties in the heart of the Port of Tacoma, WA for logistics operations. Located within the Heavy Cargo corridor of the Tacoma port, we are ready to support any and all of your outdoor storage requirements. We provide drayage services, regional trucking, and transloading of project cargoes from trailer to flatrack, including blocking, bracing, and export packing. Tribal and Indian preference employer as required by law.
